How to clean out my closet this summer by quietrose

How I did it: I often clean out my closet and donate my clothes to organizations like Goodwill.  Once I even participated in a clothing swap with a Meetup group, which was hectic but fun.  

It took me about 2 hours to go through my closet this time and purge it of items that I either hadn't worn in a long time or knew that I would not wear again.  I easily parted with clothes that were drab or did not ever fit right.  

I decided to donate my clothes this time to Career Closet, as most of what I was purging was work clothes.  Career Closet is an organization that provides clothes to woman who are getting back into the world of work and disenfranchised.  I also had some exercise tees, an old printer, and an old shredder to donate that I took to Goodwill.  I did both drop-offs today.

Lessons & tips: Really be honest with what you wear and are not using. Someone else will probably really benefit from it.  

Give yourself one day to think over any items that you are unsure about.  I kept one piece because I like it and enjoy wearing it sometimes.
