How I did it: Last year I did the 5km Race for Life in 37mins 15 secs. It was my first race and I was pleased with my time but I was determined to beat it.
I started playing netbal back in March and that has improved my fitness levels and increased my running ability. I've also been going to the gym and running on the treadmill.
I had the support of my husband and a good friend who cam to the gym with me and ecouraged my training and were there on the day to cheer me on.
Even tho it was pouring with rain I got my time down to 33 mins and 28 secs!
I was so excited to find out my time after crossing the finishing line
Lessons & tips: Lots of training and practice runs. make sure you're getting support and encouragement from your friends and family.
Next year I'm going to try and get my time to under 30 mins!
