How to be thankful
"I appreciate everything I have now."
How I did it: I stopped asking for things and wishing things were different. While I still have hopes and dreams, I stopped living in the future and try to focus on the present. By just being happy with what I have and reminding myself daily of the wonderful aspects of my life, I've become happier and I actually have less anxiety. Its hard to put a time frame on this because I forced myself to thank God (or whoever you believe in) every night for the things I have, rather than ask for the things I don't. After a while it just became a habit.
Lessons & tips: Remind yourself daily of the wonderful aspects of your life. Even if its just one or two things. Think about how much you appreciate and love those things that make you happy.
