Good idea to use Google for tips to quit…I have never actually quit a job the “right” way (I know, shame on me…I regret this a lot, too, because it does make finding a new job or trying to go back to your old job much more difficult) but plan to do so now. And I don’t even know where to start.
How to quit my job
How I did it: Put in my two weeks notice in the form of a nice, sort-of-professional resignation letter (it's only Subway, and I've only been working there for two years--didn't need to be TOO professional, right?)
Lessons & tips: Don't tell anyone if you can. It's nice to have this secret, and then when you're gone sometimes--SOMETIMES--you'll be surprised how much people really miss you.
Resources: Just googled "how to quit/resign" and "resignation letters" to get tips on the right way to go about this sort of thing. That really made it that much easier. Overall, a great experience for me. Working so much this last year and school and some volunteering on the side made it very overwhelming, almost to the point where I burned out. I'm hoping this semester with my fellowship and that one job and just 14 credits I'll be able to do very well in my classes and for the fellowship.
