How to finish the Warrior Dash
How I did it: I haven't done a race in years due to hip problems, but I've always wanted to participate in a mud run. I heard about the Warrior Dash through a friend and decided to just sign myself up. If I couldn't run, I'd walk, and somehow find my way across the finish line. The run was right around my 30th birthday and I decided that it was a great way to keep me motivated, have fun, and celebrate my life!
Lessons & tips: Do your best to train. I don't recommend doing a 5k that includes obstacles without any training. I trained by walking/jogging, pilates, yoga, and weight lifting for 6 months. Always remember, you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it. Take it at your own pace and just have fun with it. Don't be afraid to get muddy! It's such a blast!!!
