How to make soap
How I did it: First, my kids and I did some research from the internet, and looked at some pretty soaps.
We gathered stuff that could be used for the ingredients. These are the stuff we found in our home
...
*oatmeal
*activated charcoal (which we grinded)
*beet juice (drained from can)
*tea
*Johnson's light mist oil for smell
That's it.
We found honey, peppermint extract and eucalyptus oil, which we ended up not using.
Actual soapmaking process:
1. I bought a 2 lb. glycerine soap base from Michael's.
2. I cut them up in meltable pieces.
3. I put them in a glass bowl.
4. I melted them in the microwave for two minutes.
5. Take it out when fully melted, and started stirring with back of a wooden spoon.
6. We put the ingredients (no specific measurement required) while stirring.
7. We used apple juice concentrate paper container as molds (round soaps).
8. I misted the inside of the mold with the light mist oil. I did this for the smell, but it didn't work.
9. Pour in the melted soap.
10. After about 2 hours, the soap sets and hardens.
11. Tear the container for the revealing, and you're done!
Lessons & tips: Mist alcohol to prevent bubbles before the soap hardens.
I didn't use any perfume for this, but I should have because the soap itself does not smell good.
