How to become a librarian

question

Do you enjoy the work? I’m thinking about library sciences -

Christin3 early summer weather is the best!

yes :)

I think the best part was that, after going through all the bs classes and then learning all the nitty gritty of librarianship, I was able to put it into action during student teaching, and now I’m learning more than I was taught by being in a public library instead. You have to be a people person, you need to have attention for detail, and you need to love knowledge. I love knowing what the patrons want and where it is and/or how I can get it for them and make their projects easier/enrich their lives. I don’t have all the answers, but books do, and matching the information to the person really makes me feel like I’m making a difference. It’s not all sunshine and lollipops, but what is? I’ll take the bad as long as I can have all this good! Good luck.

Hello

Thanks so much for replying to my question – very informative! I think I’m good on all bases except the attention to details part – I love people, books, knowledge, research – but I am not administratively or detail orientated – but I wonder if there is any job that does not require attention to details – I guess life is one detail (or “one damned thing”) after another.

Cheers
