How to week 36 - nail the spend analysis by john_swale

How I did it: Well we started on Thursday - but the database broke. So it meant we then restarted on Monday. It took three days!

The analysis starts off - not easy but it's really just checking the figures have been dragged through correctly. But then it's so laborious when you have to consolidate the vendors and the spend associated with all of them. So like you have to pick say the top fifty but then you add in another twenty; then because some may already be in the original figure you have to add even more. Or like find all the over £500k spend.

Then all the formatting - sounds silly but all the copy; paste special, all black, all the margins and cell heights and widths, and fonts, and all the borders and making sure the actual dates are right. 

Along with the commentary on the results.

Well it's been sent off now and it'll go well above my level in the business  

Lessons & tips: Not sure how many people will do this to be fair but yea, in general just the concept of getting everything done; and everything right.

lol of course I made mistakes - luckily the lady who normally does it read it over for me.

Yea I didn’t do this as there were mistakes.
I’m actually quite worried the figures were wrong as well, that I didn’t refresh stuff.
Not just the cell borders.
