How to buy just one truely beautiful thing from each country I travel to by soundoftrees

"I have started a lovely collection of stuff I will take with me everywhere"

How I did it: Spend some time thinking about what i want to take from the experience of visiting a country. Then go find something that represents that. 

I've particularly started to collect stuff that can hang. I really enjoy looking at the wall of travel momentos. It makes me feel satisfied. 

Ok - so I still buy postcards (for the fridge) and the odd tea towel. But gone of the days of spending hundreds on junk. :-)

I also buy odd tea towels.

Because they are fun! And easy to pack. Even if they don’t match my kitchen.

Funny you should suggest this because I have actually kicked off a selection of odd tea towels for the same reasons. My most recent was ‘Fish of Samoa’ and I’m off to buy one with all the heads of Australia’s prime ministers in Canberra tomorrow.
