How I did it: This probably isn't the best help for someone who wants to do this, but essentially what I did was get some advice from my mum and uncle and then I just went out and did it. I knew that it was something I just had to do, and I realised that my family were never going to have the time or patience to sit with me while I practised. I've been driving for about a year and a half, so am confident about my driving ability, it was just getting the courage to overcome this fear. In the end what forced me to get on with it was the fact that I met my boyfriend and really wanted to go and visit him (which is an hour away). He doesn't know this, but without him this goal could have potentially taken me YEARS to achieve!!
