How to read 50 books in 2011 by sierrak

"I love to read, so this was an easy goal for me. I like using 43 Things to keep track of the books that I've read."

How I did it: I'm in a book club, so that gave me quite a few book ideas for this year.  Also, I started reading the Game of Thrones series, I've read the first two of them so far.  For the other books, I just read a variety of things that caught my fancy.

Resources: I found a new and helpful resource this year:  Good reads.com.  It even gives you suggestions now based on books that you have rated on the site.  I love it!

What did you think of the Game of Thrones books?

I love that series! I couldn’t rest till I’d read all of them (that have been published so far).

Game of Thrones

So far I’ve read only the first two books. I loved them, but I wound up reading other things in the mean time. I’ve got the “Storm of Swords” and I plan to start on it soon.

It's probably a good thing that you're taking it slow...

I rushed through the books (couldn’t help it) and then I realized that it’s going to be a long while before books 6 and 7 are published.

Good Advice

Yes, I’ve got three books left to read in the series. I didn’t realize he was still planning ot write more, but i do know that it took him over five years to publish the fifth book in the series. At that rate, I should be ready for the sixth one when it is published!
