How I did it: My dad bought tickets for our birthdays for my Mom and I to go to Sweden for a month to stay with my family there.  We made a list of places we wanted to see and did our best to see all of them. 

Lessons & tips: Money is very different there, the kronor is 6/7 to the dollar but eating out and buying anything is quite expensive.  Go for free museums first off as quite often they are far better than the paid ones.  I recommend the Stadsmuseum in Gamla Stan and enjoyed exploring Hotorget(yummy Mongolian Barbeque place called Genghis Khan), Aquaria, the Vasamuseum, Farsta, the huge flea market, Ikea and so many other neat Swedish places.

Resources: Fodor's newest edition of Sweden, internet, talking to family and cute Vancouver guy who guided us to an awesome sunset place.  Buy a subway card for the month as it will seriously save you lots of money.
