How to read through the Bible by Living In God's Exquisite, Miraculous Sufficiency

"Reading thru the whole Bible out loud with your kids is a life-changing experience!"

How I did it: I found a "Read Through The Bible" schedule on the internet that had the Bible broken up into 3 sections.  You read a little in each section a day.  The sections are the first half of the Old Testament, the 2nd half, and the New Testament.

I read the 1st half of the OT.  My daughter read the 2nd half of the OT.  My son read the NT.  My daughter started this at 10 yrs old and had a birthday over the summer.  My son started at 7 yrs old and had a birthday over the summer.

We printed out the schedule and every part we read for one day, we'd color a color.  The next day we'd use a different contrasting color.  Our schedule was printed on 1/2 sheets and was comprised of 9 sheets. 

It's very colorful - the schedule and that helped us gauge how much we had read or needed to read.  The reading schedule was broken down into months.  And, I would put down throughout the schedule what % we were at.

That helped us because we are math people. 

And, I would log here in 43T what day we were on, so we can tell what days we didn't read the Bible or what days we did.  It really shows more our Bible habits and sometimes it was overload and other times, it was sparse.

Lessons & tips:

  1. Get a solid schedule that spells out HOW you are going to read through the whole Bible.
  2. Use colored pencils, crayons or markers to mark things off.
  3. If it's your first time reading through the whole Bible, maybe start with an easier translation so you can understand what you're reading better.
  4. Read a little every day.  It's life-changing.
