How to attend a taping of the Daily Show by ideclaire

"AWESOMMMME!!!! "

How I did it: I'm a fan of The Daily Show (TDS) on Facebook and I happened to be on one afternoon when they posted they had tickets available for shows in September. I jumped right on the opportunity and requested 4 (which is the max you can get at a time.) 

As time passed and the dated neared, I began to make arrangements for getting to and from NYC and accommodation whilst there (we decided to stay the night before so we could do some exploring.) I printed the email for the tickets-- which is really just stating that we could wait in line to hopefully get tickets. 

The day of the taping we arrived at the studio (which is on 11th Ave between 51st and 52nd St., in west Midtown/Hells Kitchen) a little after 1 p.m. We waited in line until 2:30 when they start issuing the tickets. Then we walked around a little, and eventually got some lunch and a few drinks at a nearby pub, before returning at 4:30 to be admitted in the studio for the taping.   

We got seated and patiently waited for everything to get started. Jon came out and had a brief Q & A session with the audience (I was too nervous/star-struck/hungover-stupid to think of anything clever until after the session was over)

We cheered and laughed loudly and just genuinely had a great time! :) 

Lessons & tips: Check TDS website frequently to see if they have any tickets available and/or become a fan of it on Facebook/ follow on Twitter. 

If you get reservations, make sure you read all of the instructions in the email. Also print it out before you get there. 

Arrive early (1:30ish, I'd say) to ensure you do get tickets. Use the time you're waiting to think of a question to ask Jon during the Q&A session (don't be creepy!)

Relax, have fun, cheer and laugh loudly!
