"10,000 little notes of encouragement to others ended up encouraging me, too."
How I did it: My 10,000th cheer went to Todd Schoonover, Mr. 43Things himself, for his warm and touching post about his grandmother and the anniversary of his friend's passing. Since I first came here, Todd has in many ways epitimized what this site is about and how it works. He is an inexhaustable contributor who doesn't just dream his goals, he lives them in real life, too. He is open and honest with people here, fair-minded and convicted, serious and compassionate and playful and tounge-in-cheek. Ever-present with birthday wishes, on the prowl in Neighborhood Watch, in constant conversation with many people about many things, he shares his warmth and wisdom and heart with this community in a way that is inspiring.
Especially rewarding is his capability to travel and meet so many fellow 43Thingers around the country and the globe. He makes this place seem even more real. He's the only one I know who has been to the root of this site and met the "robots" who manage and maintain it. He's also the only person I know who can run a treadmill to death.
I hope to follow his triumphs and adventures for a long time, and I hope to continue to draw appreciation and inspiration from his steady and heartfelt journey through this life. He provides a great role model for both the achieving of goals, and the broadest and best use of 43 Things.
