How I did it: I applied for grad school in school psychology at the Chicago School.  I got in, got accepted, found an apartment in east Lakeview 2 days before moving (don't recommend waiting that long!) and here I am two months later becoming a true Chicagoen.  It's fun when you can help a tourist find where they're going.  The best part about where I live is being steps from the lake and lakeshore path.  Tips for finding great places to eat--use urbanspoon!
