"I had a caricature done by a well known cartoonist at the San Francisco Cartoon Art Museum."

How I did it: I went to a special event at the SF Cartoon Art Museum. They had a cartoonist doing caricatures. I was worried about sitting for any kind of portrait and I waffled about getting in line. I had a glass of wine for Dutch courage and I watched how he did the other caricatures. Once it was clear that he was not doing "mean" drawings (like many political cartoons) so I got in line. I was the last person he drew.
