How to wear proper garb to the Renaissance Festival
"Fun!"
How I did it: I made my skirt - it's just a big rectangle of 60" fabric, with a drawstring round the waist. With a small hem, it's just the right length. My blouse I bought from an ebay seller - it's just a standard long-sleeved white chemise with drawstrings at the neck and wrists. My leather corset I bought from Dangerous Curves corsets ... it's by far the most awesome piece of the costume. It's the proper Renaissance shape, conical, made of brown and black leather. I also wore an underskirt of red taffeta that I've owned for years and years.
Lessons & tips: There are a lot of pieces for sale at high prices out there - it's worth searching through to find a good price!
