How to complete UCB Improv 101
How I did it: Paid the $350 registration fee online & chose class schedule (MUCH easier to do on weekends)
Attended all 8 classes and my graduation show (can only miss 2 classes max but why would I when they are about $40 a pop?)
Went to 4 improv nights - each with different themes and types to get a variety of level of improv and style, so as to learn what works, doesn't work, and also enjoy myself.
Paid attention to class and asked questions, was willing to fail in front of others. Also a few of us had a practice day before graduation just to get last minute feedback and jitters out. Was far less scary than I anticipated during the actual show as the lights were in my eyes and I could barely see the audience. Will definitely sign up for 201 next January when classes resume.
Lessons & tips: Go to all your classes - why waste your money otherwise?
See as many shows as you can - they're free (or at least included) for the time being and funny as hell!
Don't think about what you're going to do or try to control the sketches, be yourself and be willing to fail
Have fun - the more you practice the easier it gets
