How to finish my WA 2009 travelog
"The southern cape of Western Australia is so beautiful!"
How I did it: I took my time, gradually adding details and photos to flesh out my wine tasting notes and a brief description of my short holiday.
Western Australia, and especially the southern cape area is very beautiful, even though it was devastated by fire shortly before I visited the area in 2009. The Margaret River area is becoming more well known as a wine producing region.
Lessons & tips:
- Using speech to text software was too difficult to write into tables in HTML.
- When taking wine notes, you don't need to use the usual 'wine' vocabulary as used by experts - use whatever words make sense to you, especially if you are reviewing your notes after a lot of time as passed.
- If taking notes on your phone, be prepared to explain why you are tapping away while tasting wine.
- Be consistent with your vocabulary, and use shortened forms of words/phrases to help you take your notes quickly.
- Taking photos of the labels of the wines you loved may help you when you are looking for it in the shops.
Resources:
- The native Notes app on the iPhone is useful, even if it is a little slow for taking notes.
