How to buy toys for children in need with my kids
How I did it: At the kids' child care center, they had a Christmas tree with different ornaments that indicated the age and gender of the child and what he/she wanted. I explained to Cebastian and Isabelle that there are children out there who might not get anything for Christmas, and we should try and give them a toy that they can enjoy.
Each of them picked a child. Cebastian chose a ten-year old boy who wanted a board game, and Isabelle chose an eight-year old girl who wanted a Disney Channel music cd. Yesterday, we headed to the stores to find the items. For the boy, we decided on Battleship. When I was a little girl, I LOVED that game, and Cebastian does as well, so we thought it was perfect. We couldn't find the Disney cd for Isabelle's gift, so I got it online.
Lessons & tips: You want to teach children that
Resources: The way I was raised. We weren't raised with a lot, so I think it's made me appreciate what I have and want to instill that in my own kids.
