How to finish writing my book
How I did it: I wrote my first book in hotels and airports while I was away from home on business. Since I had worked all day, I didn't want to work in the evenings. The book is
Wizard and Spy: Book 1
The Ex-Apprentices
It's available on Amazon for the Kindle
on Smashwords for other ereaders
and in print
The second book in the series is almost ready for publication. I am also working on a non-fiction book with a traditional publisher.
Lessons & tips: I did the first book as a self-published novel because I wanted to learn about self-publishing and epublishing before I did my next book which is on judo. I wanted to learn how much trouble it was to self-publish versus the traditional publishing route.
The writing the book part was not too difficult because I did it in my spare time so it was already done. I paid an editor and I still found a couple of mistakes in the published version. The next time, I'll read it over even more times. I think one last run through even after your final version is to be recommended.
I also learned that selling a book is a LOT of marketing that really doesn't interest me. So, with my non-fiction book I am going with a traditional publisher.
I will be selling my second novel as a self-published book, though.
