How to adopt a rescue dog by SimplyStacey

"So many wonderful dogs are just waiting for a home!"

How I did it: We had never adopted a rescue pup before, but we went to our local shelter and met some dogs. This little pup had a sad story, and we thought our sweet old golden retriever would be a good influence on her. We filled out the paperwork to adopt her. They had her spayed and we picked her up the next day. We gave both her and our old dog a lot of love and attention, and they are getting along already. She is a curious, affectionate girl and a great addition to our family.

Lessons & tips: If you have a dog, take him/her to meet the new dog and make sure they'll get along.
