"It required all my concentration to stay upright and moving forward but as I continue to go back to free skate and improve my skills, I will be able to let my mind wander and gather my thoughts in little circles. "

How I did it: While home for Christmas I visited www.portlandicearena.com and discovered the Open/Free Skate hours.  After a couple of fays of puttering around and trying to find company I decided to sojourn forward to Open/Free skate on my own.  I paid a five dollar admission ticket charge and two dollars to rent skates.

Lessons & tips: It is ridiculous it took me so long to accomplish this.  The lesson here, as with most 43things is "Heavens, just get in there and do it already!"  Checking things off has to be a priority!

I was looking through my old messages and just read that you completed your goal! Congratulations on your accomplishment and it sounds like you had a good time. It’s not a bad idea to go alone if you need to practice so you don’t feel like you are slowing anyone else down and you can take your time.
