How I did it: I downloaded a list of the daily concepts. I thought about how I could celebrate each of these things in a way that would bring my family together. Did some geneology research and invented a game for my grandkids.
Lessons & tips: Also, please talk to your older living relatives and get as much first hand information as you can. Especially family stories. If you don't then there won't be a history.
Resources: Check out ancestry.com because there might actually be some family history there.

My mom is big into genealogy and has our family traced back to the 16th century. She has done the same for my in-laws. There is something so special about keeping our family history alive. The stories are very informative and the kids are wowed by how different things were back in the “good ol’ days”.
