How to ride the bus more places
How I did it: I really started making use of public transportation when I started college, and now I feel it's time to tick this off my list because I finally have a good knowledge of the local bus routes and how to get where I need to go.
As to how I did it, I took the bus places. Never too far, but just to random places, took different stops, and different scheduled busses to see which ones were less crowded and on time due to rush hour.
Lessons & tips: Always have more bus fare than you need on hand and enough for a day pass if possible. You never know what will happen if you're on the road.
Don't sit next to the middle schoolers or high schoolers, they're usually doing something bothersome or talking.
Keep an eye on your belongings and dont leave the bus until you can account for all of the things you walked in with. I've seen too many people leave behind a bike, a backpack, or a jacket.
Make sure the bus stops you are using are well-lit, near a populated area and close by to your destination.
Bring your phone and make sure the damn thing is charged! I can't tell you how many times I've had my phone die on me en route. It SUCKS!
