How to go vegan
How I did it: Years of being a "flexitarian" made me more conscious of my body and how it reacted to various foods. I eventually began to recognize that eating animal products caused negative symptoms.
I did alot of research and found support in like minded individuals. There are alot of amazing books, blogs, websites and online resources.
When I felt ready I explored my community and found more like minded supporters right in town. (Yoga studios and health food stores are a great place to start.) This strengthened my resolve, as I had/ and still have minimal support from my family. I was able however to find a Vegan Yoga Retreat which was such a life changing experience, 8 days of detoxing and I haven't looked back.
I am now working toward becoming a more conscious consumer, and eliminating toxic and animal related products from my life. You make a thousand choices everyday, which are going to make that affect our planet, future generations and make you feel better?
Lessons & tips: Learn to cook - I use my blender and slow cooker all the time. There are so many great vegan cookbooks!
Spend your online time exploring vegan resources.
Call your favorite restaurant and see if they can whip up a vegan meal. Or search with Happy Cow to find a veg friendly one in your area.
