How to do a trial run Courvosier Turkey since i haven't made one in 8 years
"drunken monkey turkey"
How I did it: it's real simple
- turkey
- cooking pan
- injector
- baster
- foil (if your oldschool)
- turkey bag (if you don't have time)
- butter
- Courvoisier
- a sauce pan
- stuffing
make the stuffing ahead of time - can't tell you the amount to measure for the basting. you knda just gotta eyeball it. i had trial run 12 pounder. melt a stick of butter and a cup and a half probably more of Courvoisier. inject the turkey all over with the marinade. then baste it. put it in a bag if you don't have time to cook babysit it. - where theres about 45 to an hour left of cooking time - cut the bag open and let it brown and crisp (if you like that) OH... i forgot to mention stuffing the turkey. after you put in the bag, stuff the turkey.. then close it up and put in in the oven.
Lessons & tips: injection is the tip to a super juicy turkey. bag or no bag... i've done it with both... i like the foil better.

The day off
a craving for Courvoisier turkey
and the determination to practice making the prefect turkey due to phone calls that my family from all over Califas are going to spend the holidays at my house!
