How to be called beautiful by a stranger
"So completely inspiring!"
How I did it:
Disclaimer: I'm not asking anyone for compliments, and don't want to see any.
This was, to me, kind of a dumb goal. Not quite sure why I even wanted to do it. Maybe it's a little shallow.
While I was at work a man came in, a 71 year old man who come in regularly, and as I was helping him he just kind of took a minute and smiled at me, where I smiled back at him. He told me to stay in school because it was so important, and to never regret a minute of it. Then he told me to stop trying to cover my teeth with my lips (something I do without realizing it because I've always been so self-conscious about my teeth) because my teeth are beautiful.
No one on here really knows me. I'm proud of who I am, and I think I'm beautiful. I've come to accept that my teeth are not perfect, even if no one else has. This conversation made me almost cry in the middle of my work night. I'm wearing braces now, which will later be assisted by surgery, and get a lot of compliments from my family and friends on how good my teeth are looking.
I've never been told my teeth were beautiful before these damn braces.
Thank you, Mr. Anonymous, for renewing my sense of beauty in myself.
