How to go Dog Sledding by graciebeal

"This was so fun!"

How I did it: Dog sledding was definitely worth it! It was so different than I thought it would be, in a good way! I went to Alaska and booked a dog sledding trip with a couple of people and some mushers, and it was so fun! 

Lessons & tips: Tips for staying warm: 

-bring a gator (covers mouth and nose)
-dress in at least 4 layers (it was freezing!)
-bring hand and feet warmers, mittens, and thick socks

graciebeal happy saturday!

I just booked the reservation, and we went for about 7 miles! A sled was directly in back of the dogs for the musher to control them, and I controlled turns and such from a sled behind that. As I understand it you’re able to drive completely by yourself if you take a class, however I wasn’t interested in the class and had a bunch of fun anyways! All you would do would be yell commands at the dogs, so…
