How I did it: I used mint.com mostly, tracked my expenses and budgeted for categories that had a set amount that needed to be spent, like rent and electricity..also accounted for small things that were regular like netflix and hulu plus
Lessons & tips: a regular budget doesn't work when income isn't regular, but DO start a savings even if it's only $10 at first
