How to create a vision board
"Change it up and put it somewhere familiar!"
How I did it: I saved a bunch of poems and quotes, also motivational pictures, and alter which ones to put on there.
A lot are about working out, playing sports, relaxing, self-control, freedom, confidence and exploration.
I change it up so it doesn't get too part-of the scenery and keep it by my mirror.
Lessons & tips: Keep stuff as you find it and save it for the change-ups. Some of those are from brochures from my last dive trip. Half of people just see Heidi Klum's body, which yes, is there as workout motivation, but I love some of the stuff I printed out, the bit of Walden,
"“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”
And this poem:
"O to struggle against great odds, to meet enemies undaunted!
To be entirely alone with them, to find how much one can stand! To be a sailor of the world bound for all ports,
O to be the ruler of life, not a slave.
To mount the scaffold, to advance to the muzzles of guns with perfect nonchalance!
To dance,
Clap hands,
Exult,
Shout,
Skip,
Leap,
Roll on,
Float on!
O to have life henceforth a poem of new joys!
To be indeed a God!"
Then the African saying, "
“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.”"We are lonely... until we find ourselves."
"Happiness is not a station to arrive at, but a manner of travelling."
And lastly, by Mark Twain,
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
