How I did it: I decided to write a journal entry every day for a year. To keep things interesting I had a few little rules for myself here and there.
The first journal I wrote in had to be positive so I tried to be thankful or excited about things to see if writing could help me develop a good attitude about things. The second book I wrote in I wrote however I was feeling. Sometimes the entries would start off negative but after I had mulled over stuff as I was writing I found that I would consistantly end up on a joyful note or have flowed my thought pattern through to realising it was all in God's hand. I much preferred this method of journalling. After that book was finished I switched to writing an electronic journal (on a blog). I did talk about different things knowing others might be reading and covered issues I was thinking about in more depth rather than just a stream of thought. I really liked blogging firstly because I can type a lot faster than I can write and it is legible enough to review!
Lessons & tips: Be honest and just write something even if it means starting off with negative stuff because you might work your way through it in the process.
If you find it time consuming use a blog service instead. Even if you have it set to private it is quicker and easier to review. You might end up writing something you do want to share with others too!

PasadenaSue This is the year I face my fears and love myself!
You now have one year of your life documented to look back on as you grow. You will remember the happy memories, your dreams and fears. And you can see how far you have come.
Cheers!
