How to bake bread
How I did it: Bread made its way onto our grocery list again, so I decided to finally tackle this goal and pick up some yeast instead!
I found an online recipe that had a lot of good reviews (and had "easy" in the title). I had always heard bread was difficult with punching it down and waiting for it to rise, etc., but because you don't need to roll anything out, I thought it was pretty easy. Just a little time consuming (lots of wait time).
The recipe I made made 3 loaves worth. I'm freezing 2, so we should be set for bread for awhile!
Lessons & tips: When I made the first 2 loaves, I didn't wait long enough for them to rise above the pan line. The loaves came out fine, but they're a little smaller than the 3rd loaf. So I guess my advice is: be patient!
Also, the recipe I used called for bread flour. I just used all-purpose and it came out fine. Sugar can be subbed for honey too.
