How I did it: In fourth grade, during the month of October in which multiple Halloween movies were being shown, I watched a Harry Potter movie for the first time: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I was immediately hooked from then on and have since become a Harry Potter freak.
I began at book one and did not stop reading until book six - and only because the seventh book had yet to come out. When it did, I remember being so excited. My book was preordered, and I took part in a memorable event celebrating its release at the local library. One of the best days of my life.
Last summer, when the final part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was on the big screen, I saw it a drive in movie theater. Afterward...I was sad. It was like my childhood had ended, or at least a big part of it. Harry Potter played a huge part in my childish fantasies and dreams.
So, seeing the ending...a part of life ended. I realized that I was no longer a little kid. I was growing up. Everyday, I am maturing and changing. The kingdom of childhood had crumbled, replaced with the barren land of adolescence which I must build upon as I become an adult.
