How I did it: I went to a shop and had a professional with experience do it. At first they were too small, so I came back in a few weeks to have them twisted together. A lot of them unraveled and laid flat next to each other, making flat locks instead of round ones. I've since brushed a lot of them out and backcombed them together so that they're round, and I love them. 

Lessons & tips: I suggest not to use wax or locking gel, because that was very visible in my hair and I had to brush it out. I also recommend doing it yourself if you're confident enough, because it's very rewarding knowing that you did something you're proud of.
