How I did it: Searched for open mics evening in my locality and came along. It was very nerve wracking the first time so I sucked (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id_wRbA8_jw). But after a few performances, I feel I'm getting better (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QAovNt7q54&feature=plcp )...even though I'm still not rehearsing nearly enough!

Lessons & tips: Rehearse more than me! Ideally, you want to be able to play your songs without a hitch because once you are in front of a live audience, nerves will hamper you.... unless you are so laid back that you are horizontal, or that you have inherited the nerves of the man of steel.   :P
