"a learning experience, and I know I can have it again."

How I did it: Dated my best friend for 3 years. Not Janet..another best friend ;P

I let myself be vulnerable. Probably the most important thing.
I did a lot of self analyzing, self exploration.
I knew I felt strongly for this person.
Even though I went away for school, I did what I could to make a long distance relationship work.
When things got ugly, I tried to be as helpful as I could.
I let myself care for someone more than I cared for myself.
I was selfless.

Lessons & tips: be honest, courageous, understanding, supportive, active communicator, optimistic; willing to make sacrifices.

I became aware of some of my faults and did my best to become a better person. I made improvements on myself.
