How to learn to sing by Tara Vaughan

"It's just about getting over that inhibition."

How I did it: I tried taking vocal lessons.  That wasn't the answer.

The answer was uke jam.  They teach ukelele in a group lesson at a tavern in Toronto and they're absolutely insistent on singing - especially the silly and fun parts - and everyone sings together, so it's not hard.  

Once you let your voice out, it's actually really hard to keep it in.  You might just hear me singing when I walk my dogs.

Lessons & tips: Try to find excuses to sing WITH people.  It'll sound better.
