How to register my car on time
How I did it: I fail with the "on time" part of this but I did get it registered way earlier than usual. Typically it's July or August before I've gotten my car registered.
Called the DMV today because I couldn't register my car online. Couldn't do it over the phone too. Spoke to a representative and he told me I had an open recall (which I fixed and provided proof of last year). So, I had to go to the dealership and get another Proof of Correction form. Luckily, I didn't have to smog my car this year. Went to the DMV, waited an hour, paid my money and penalties and got my tags. Done. Bam. Next year maybe I will get my car registered before I have any penalties? Maybe....
Lessons & tips: Don't procrastinate. This would have been the perfect year for me to get it registered on time. There was NOTHING complicated about it, unlike last year, which was just a complete ordeal.
