How to get my lip pierced
How I did it: I got snake bites (a ring on each side). Just stepped into a tattoo place and asked for the piercings; it cost $50 and took less than five minutes. Quite a jolt of pain with each one, but only for a split second and totally worth it. There was little to no pain or soreness afterwards; my lip just felt numb and a little swollen.
Lessons & tips: Don't worry about the pain; it really isn't much worse than having your blood drawn. Keep up with aftercare. I recommend H2Ocean - the mouthwash for inside and the spray for outside. If you can't afford that, though, it's fine. Just use regular saline solution. The starter jewelry is going to be very much oversized in order to compensate for swelling, which is really annoying. If you get captive rings, you will need to see the piercer again in a few weeks to have the jewelry changed. You can't remove them yourself without a special tool, unfortunately.
