How to implement GTD
"I do not have it 100% implemented by the book, but I have a system that works for me."
How I did it: Naturally, I started by reading the book Getting Things Done by David Allen. I followed the book and incorporated as much of his system into my life as possible. Then, as I found that parts of the system didn't work for me, I either tweaked or eliminated them. Now after more than six months, I have a system that handles more than 80% of my stuff.
I've built in surge capacity, so that when things get hectic, the system can stretch to accommodate it. When things get slow, it contracts.
Lessons & tips: Keep it simple. Relentlessly reduce clutter.
If you are spending more time managing your system that actually doing stuff, you need to scale back.
