How I did it: I think I did everything right, but ultimately I had an "okay" experience. I read all of the literature, got really into the topics (in fact, developed a deep interest), went above and beyond by keeping up on news relating to our research and attending any presentations related to our topics. Unfortunately, my group didn't work very well together and a lot of times the other members were too overwhelmed by other commitments to give the project justice. I think the lesson to learn is that research, especially in my field, depends a lot on whether the group works well together. 

Lessons & tips:

•  While I didn't have the best experience, if I had the choice, I would still do it again
• Working on research depends a lot on the GROUP and not a lot on the subject matter. I learned this the hard way. I grew to love the subject matter, but our group didn't work well together.
