How I did it: I ate a lot of fruit. I ate more vegetables. I pretty much stopped eating processed sugar and processed flour. I started exercising a lot... walking, yoga, jogging, hiking, and other things.
I mostly stopped eating restaurant food and prepared my own foods. I found quick and easy meals I could make for myself.
If I was going to "eat out" I would get something healthy like jamba juice or a salad.
I slept more. I really paid attention to getting enough sleep.
I kept a food and exercise journal.
Lessons & tips: All I can say is I put my health as my first priority. I chose to spend my money on health related things (for example instead of buying cute shoes I bought sneakers I could exercise in)
or, instead of spending my money on going out to eat at a restaurant, I would buy food at the grocery store and then actually eat at home. often, this meant not going out to restaurants with my friends, but I have slowly been making new friends or doing different things with my friends (changing my habits)
I also chose to buy an exercise bike instead of a new computer.
