How to read more poetry by JodieSparkes

"Worthwhile!"

How I did it: I've always read a lot of books but poetry, outside of what appeared in novels, what I studied in school and a love of war poetry, wasn't something I really sought out.

I aimed to read a poem every day for the month of May and I've done just that!
I've found a few new favourites, rediscovered some old loves and been moved to tears more than once!
So rewarding!

It's definitely something I'm going to keep doing. A poem is a much quicker read than a book for starters!

Goodness, I’m not sure!
Possibly “No Man’s Land” by Knight-Adkin, just because I’m such a sucker for war poetry and it was utterly brilliant.
But then, I’d never read any Neruda before and I’ve just been blown away by his work.
“Auld Reekie” by RLS will forever be one of my favourites though – the meanings and memories I attach to it make it that way!

I really like “No Man’s Land”. And Neruda is a brilliant poet, indeed!
