How I did it:   I took one section of my room at a time and pitched any papers or items that I no longer used or deemed unimportant.  I started by taking stuff out of my closets and then after I cleaned out the closets, I worked from both sides of my room and worked into the middle where things became easier.  

Lessons & tips: Having numerous storage bins to reorganize a closet help a lot!
