"Couch to marathon in one year"

How I did it: Used Couch to 5k app to get started (started late May 2011)

Slowly incremented mileage with a long run on the weekends.

Created a habit, discipline to keep running at least two to three times a week, no matter what.

Nutrition becomes important after 10 miles. After 4 miles take a GU Gel or 1/3 of a Access bar every 30 minutes.

Don't increase mileage more than a couple miles a week otherwise you will risk getting hurt. I got hurt when I felt unstoppable and went too far.
