How to run a 5k
"I expected to be faster than I was, but it opened a door I never would have thought to look behind"
How I did it: I did the Cool Runnings Couch to 5k program. I was disappointed in my 42 minute finish. But it opened my eyes to running, which I never thought would be something I wanted to do.
I finished a half marathon exactly a year later and aspire to do a triathlon and live up to the name "athlete".
Lessons & tips: Don't worry about your time. Don't try and prove something by running the entire time. If you want to run/walk do it. I tried running the entire time and was passed by run/walkers.
