How I did it: I made a resume using a template my friend sent me. You should do some volunteer work even if you've never had a job before because at least then you have some skills and experience. You want things to put on your resume. Then me and my friend went job hunting around the mall and handed a resume to basically every store that would take it. You should hand in your resume to a bunch of stores even if they don't say they're hiring on a sign or anything outside the store. Just ask if you can give them a resume or fill in an application. Then about 2 days later one of the stores I applied to called me to set up an interview for that night, so I went to the interview and tried to be as honest as possible. Then the next day they called me and said I got the job! 

Lessons & tips:

• most companies are looking for people who are fast learners, leaders, and have good communication skills so you should put that on your resume
•   hand in your resume/application to as many places as possible, even if you don't really wanna work there (it's easier to get a better job if you already have one!)
•  check online to see if places are hiring 
• wear clothing appropriate for the store/restaurant during your interview
