"Being involved in a/the community is really important! You can learn a lot from the people you are serving, as well as they can learn from you."
How I did it: I wasn't serving my community, but basically what I wanted to do with this goal was to serve A community, so I mark this as done.
I went on a mission trip- only 2 hours away from where I live- and served on the reservations. The people there were very wise and I learned a lot from them both by serving them and listening to what they had to say.
It's really important to be involved in the community and to build relationships with the people who live in it. The experience I had was radical and changed me in a lot of ways. I grew closer to Jesus by serving others around me and really got out of my shell and started to care more about the people around me than myself!
If you're thinking about going a mission trip, seriously do it! It will change your life in more ways than one!
Lessons & tips:

-UNITE with others to help those in need
-LEARN about those you are serving
-CULTIVATE ideas. Brainstorm and think outside of the box.
- Build relationships with the people you are serving
-Don't just serve your community because it is an obligation or you feel you have to do it. Do it because you want to serve and learn about your community and the people in it. You will be a lot better off for it!
-Jesus replied, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind.' This is the first and most important commandment. And the second is like it. 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.'
